Offered only with the sportier AMG badge, the SL63 model for 2022 boasts a 577-hp bi-turbo 32-valve V8 engine with 590 lb-ft (even the entry-level SL55, a 469-hp version of the same engine). The AMG Dynamic Select function lets you fine-tune steering, throttle, shifting, and more. Powerful acceleration takes the SL63 from 0-60 in just 3.5 seconds and 0-100 in less than 7 seconds (6.8 to be exact). Depending on the model, speed capability tops out at an impressive 183-196 mph. The standard Speedshift MCT 9-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and four-wheel steering equip the 2022 SL to take on sporting rivals like the Porsche 911 and convertibles such as the BMW 8-series and Lexus LC.Open-Air Persona
The SL is available for 2022 as a two-door convertible on a 106.3-inch wheelbase. The return to a folding fabric roof retains the car’s open-air persona while maximizing cargo space.
