600 × 400?

The all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS has been one of the most talked-about vehicles of the year. It’s no wonder why this latest Mercedes-Benz SUV has been the talk of so many car enthusiasts – it’s a Maybach release, it’s fully electric, and the design hasn’t been fully revealed. However, teaser pictures of the EQS interior are something to behold. The massive Hyperscreen dominates a glowing full digital dash and center console. This Mercedes-Benz release looks like something straight out of the Jetsons; if the Jetsons drove a luxury spaceship. Since most of the details of this electric Maybach release are still kept under tight wraps, here’s what we do know about this futuristic SUV.

First In Its Class

This release will be the first electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz planned the release of this electric SUV to be an alternative to the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the BMW X7. One thing we do know is this version of the EQS will share the same motor and battery as the previously released EQS Sedan. The EQS S-class is an electric car Mercedes-Benz released as an alternative to the Tesla Model S and Porsche models. The EQS Sedan has been a hit with consumers and was widely received with positive reviews from critics.

MBUX Hyperscreen

The driver’s display will be completely digital, and the EQS will have the optional MBUX Hyperscreen. This dual-screen infotainment system basically leaves the entire length of the dash from driver to passenger interior door as a giant video screen. This over-the-top entertainment system is fully responsive to voice commands and has all the bells and whistles you could ask for from a Mercedes-Benz dash display.

Performance

The EQS SUV will have two battery options; there’s a 90 kWh option and a 108 kWh version. Both will accept 200kW fast chargers, which enables the vehicle to receive a 186-mile boost in just 15 minutes. The Maybach EQS will have a range of about 370 miles on a full battery, while the standard will get well over 400.

No Loss of Power

?
This is where the EQS starts to defy logic. The Mercedes-Benz electric SUV will come with a four-wheel-drive package. This means despite being such a heavy SUV, this car will power from 0 to 60 in an incredible 5 seconds. How’s that for an electric vehicle? Oh, and we forgot to mention the minor detail of having 761 horses under the hood.

Smooth Design

In concept photos, which many critics and fans widely believe to be a very close resemblance to the real deal, the design was breathtaking. The two-tone paint and slightly boxed roof seamlessly dripped down to a curvy lower panel that made this car look like a wet bullet. The 22-inch wheels were the perfect addition to this sexy design. If you’re already dreaming of owning one of these cutting-edge SUVs, you’re going to have to wait a little longer. The EQS SUV isn’t slated for release until 2022. However, the vehicle will be fully revealed in the first quarter of the same year, giving us something to look forward to in the very near future.
