Mercedes-Benz to the rescue! We're guessing that's
how Tesla Motors Inc. feels after scoring a pretty sweet deal with the luxury
automaker. With a recent background of profit loss, the electric car maker is
moving into 2012 partnered with our favorite automotive brand. While Tesla may be a less familiar brand, having Mercedes-Benz on their side is sure to get the electric car brand that much more recognition.
Of course, Tesla isn't the only one to benefit. Mercedes-Benz-driving electro-lovers everywhere will be thrilled to hear about the product of this collaboration. What will that product be? Yep. You guessed it. An all-new, all-electric Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
In this early stage of the game, little is known about the new vehicle. However, officials have confirmed that the electric car and parts company will supply the model's battery packs, motor gearbox, inverter and other electric-related software. As for the juicier details, Mercedes-Benz has decided to keep the body type, design, etc. a secret for now. Who knows, perhaps will end up seeing an electric-powered Mercedes-Benz ML350 or Mercedes-Benz C250. Either of those options would be more than alright with Mercedes-Benz of Lancaster.
While waiting for further information, we encourage you to check out our Mercedes-Benz electric-light options including the S400 Hybrid sedan and learn more about the upcoming E400 Hybrid. For those who prefer their luxury model to run on a traditional gas-powered engine, we invite you to stop by Mercedes-Benz of Lancaster and peruse our selection of new Mercedes-Benz models today.[INFO] http://www.bostonherald.com/business/automotive/view/20120216tesla_will_help_develop_new_electric_mercedes-benz/srvc=home&position=recent http://www.latimes.com/business/money/la-fi-mo-tesla-mercedes-20120215,0,2550206.story
